Deeper reads: net metering and battery backup.

How do you size a system?

We start from your average monthly usage, roof geometry, and shading. Most Tampa Bay homes land near 8–12kW. Demo note: figures here are illustrative.

What about Florida storms?

Arrays are engineered and permitted for local wind loads. We review roof condition before mounting and can coordinate with roofers when needed.

Is this a real company?

No. Harborline Solar is a fictional GoPilot demo brand used to showcase landing-page design concepts. Do not call or email expecting service.

How does net metering work here?

Utility rules vary. We explain credits, minimum charges, and what “zero bill” really means before you sign — education first, then a proposal.

Can I add a battery later?

Yes for many systems. We design with battery-ready pathways when homeowners want to phase the investment.

How long does installation take?

The install itself is usually a few days. The full path from signed proposal to switched on includes design, permitting, and utility approval, which takes weeks and varies by city and utility. We give you a timeline in your proposal and track each step. Demo note: timelines here are illustrative.

Does my roof need to be new?

Not new, but it should have life left. If the roof will need replacing within roughly the life of the system, it is cheaper to fix it first than to remove panels later. We review roof condition before we quote a final design.

What happens during a power outage?

Standard grid-tied solar shuts off during an outage for lineworker safety. A battery with the right equipment can keep selected circuits running. See our battery backup explainer for what that actually means.

Do you handle permits and utility paperwork?

Yes. We file building permits and utility interconnection applications and follow them through to permission to operate. You should not turn the system on before the utility approves it, and we will tell you when it is time.

How do I compare your quote to another?

Use price per watt, panel and inverter hardware, warranty terms, production assumptions, and what is left out. Bring the other quote and we will go through it line by line, even if you choose someone else.
